Separation Anxiety Story
Separation anxiety may have been made worse for a lot of little ones due to COVID-19 and the stay at home orders. This story talks about mom or dad leaving the house and how it might make children sad. It guides them on what they CAN do instead of whining, crying or pulling on parents. A cue card for deep breathing and a cue card for “my mom/dad will come back” can be used to give your child something tangible to hold on to and focus on.

Have you thought about writing a similar separation story…but with the child separating from the parent because the child will be returning to school (even if just 1 or 2 times a week?)
Do you have a social story on separation anxiety for school? Many of me kindergarten students have such a hard time at the beginning of the school year.
Thank you for providing these materials, you have no idea how many students you have helped!
Het jy dalk moontlik hierdie storie oor skeidingsangs vir skool dalk in Afrikaans asseblief? Baie dankie vir die deel van die stories!

What an awesome post you did here. Yeah, Covid-19 has confined us in different ways and not only for our children but also we scattered from our family members and relatives and even dropped off from all sorts of daily activities. That's rally a frustrating event. At the same time we also has been able to know who and what workers are essential for our society to continuer functioning in the situation like corona virus. Hopefully first responders like firefighters, police, doctors and EMTs and other professionals who are dedicated to human welfare have come out to extend their benevolent help. BTW I desire was to reveal how much does an emt make, first responder career opportunities and their noble role. But I was completely satified with your thoughtful article.
fabulous material for parents and grandparents like me…..thankyou so much…love the social stories
