Our Frequently Asked Questions
How This Is Different From an Adapted Book Bundle on TpT?
The Adapted Book Library is not the same resource as the adapted book bundle on TpT. The TpT bundle is a static collection. The Adapted Book Library is a living library designed to support long-term use in real classrooms.
What makes the library different?
Ongoing Updates. The Adapted Book Library continues to grow with new titles added over time. The Adapted Book Library includes adapted book visuals that align with titles used inside the High Support Needs Curriculum. The TpT bundle includes adapted book visuals only.
What does each book include?
Visual cue cards that can be used as dry-erase cards or playdough smash mats, Larger visuals for felt boards or magnet boards for story retelling, and a connected visual art project for comprehension and extension. These additional pieces are not included in the TpT bundle.
Are physical books included in the subscription?
No. Physical books are not included. The Adapted Book Library provides printable visuals that pair with popular children’s books you already own or can borrow from your classroom or local library. The visuals are designed to make shared reading more accessible and predictable for all learners.
How long do I have access to the library?
You’ll have full access to the Adapted Book Library for as long as your subscription remains active. Whether you join monthly or annually, your access continues as long as your membership is current.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You can cancel your monthly or annual subscription at any time. When you cancel, your access stays active through the end of your current billing period.
What’s included when I join the annual plan?
Annual members receive everything in the monthly plan, plus: Two months free (12 months for the price of 10). A grant request template you can use with your district or program to request physical books and materials. A complete book list for both the Adapted Book Library and the High Support Needs Curriculum. These additions help you advocate for the tools your students need.
Are there live calls or coaching sessions included?
No live calls are included with this subscription. Instead, you’ll receive access to two prerecorded trainings where Tara walks you through how to adapt books and why visual supports make such a difference for autistic preschoolers.
Is this library good for non-speaking or minimally speaking learners?
Yes. The visuals in the Adapted Book Library are designed to support all communication styles. They help children understand the story, anticipate what’s coming next, and participate in ways that feel safe and comfortable—without pressure to respond in a specific way.
Founder of Autism Little Learners
Hi, I’m Tara Phillips
I’m a speech-language pathologist who spent over 25 years running a communication-based classroom for young autistic children.
During that time, I watched the way we teach and support autistic students evolve—and I made it my mission to stay at the forefront of research and strategies. My top priority? Building positive, trusting relationships with my students.
In 2019, after losing my dad to leukemia, I needed something to pull me out of the darkness. That’s when I started creating resources for educators and parents—because I knew what it felt like to feel overwhelmed and unsure where to start.

Autism Little Learners was born from that season of grief, and it has grown into my passion: helping educators and parents reduce overwhelm, see progress, and celebrate small wins that build on each other.
